Another one of our favorite Dyckia hybrids to come out of our mixes! Parentage includes 'Arizona', 'Keswick', 'Paylen' and 'Brittle
Star'. A very dark purple-mahogany color that becomes nearly black in full sun. Long, recurved leaves are lined with huge thick, triangular teeth that are a stunning contrast to the dark leaves.
Individual heads get to approx. 4-6 inches across. The heads will eventually start to divide, forming a tight colony approx. 8-10 inches across. A truly spectacular hybrid! Bright orange flowers on tall spikes in spring-summer. A fantastic color and texture in the drought tolerant or rock garden. A great one for the Bromeliad collector.
Full sun (in milder climates) to bright, filtered light.
Can be grown in the ground, in very well-drained soil. also does great as a potted plant.
Quite drought tolerant in the ground, but will look it's best and grow fastest with occasional water. Will prefer more water, when grown as a potted specimen.
Hardy to approx. 20-25 degrees F. With some cover to prevent leaf burn
