This is a gorgeous and unique variegated form of Aloe arborescens. It's not that uncommon for the regular variegated form of arborescens to produce the occasional all white head. However, it is unusual for those heads to be stable. They usually lack any chlorophyll and will die, once removed from the parent, or once propagated, the new offsets they produce are striped and they grow back into a regular striped plant, like the original plant that they came from.
We made this selection years ago and found that it was completely stable. It produces only pure white offsets that never reverts back to the regular striped form when they are propagated. This selection does have stripes but it holds them, unseen, entirely on the undersides of the leaves. In the garden all you see is the pure white. This makes it a blast of brightness in the landscape and also makes it a great succulent for a moon garden, where it glows.
This Aloe forms a slow growing multi-headed shrub at least 2-3 feet high and 2-3 feet wide. Individual heads can reach 24 inches across. In Winter, large 2 foot spikes of bright orange flowers are produced. A heavy and reliable bloomer that is loved by hummingbirds!
Part sun (full sun in mild climates), well drained soil and occasional to infrequent water once established.
Hardy to approx. 20 degrees (with some cover).
