Farfugium japonicum 'Gigantea' (Giant Leopard Plant) - This unbelievable plant (Formerly Ligularia) grows 3-4 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide with HUGE round leaves (up to 18 inches across).  Leaves are very thick and glossy.  They feel almost like stiff leather or plastic.  In late summer through fall, large branched flower stems of yellow daisy-like flowers are produced.  A must have for an amazing tropical effect in the yard!
 
Part to full shade, regular to rich soil and regular water.  Can be used as a marginal plant around a pond.  
Hardy to 0 degrees F. it will die back in cold winter areas and shoot back up in the spring.  In mild areas it is evergreen.
